
Module 2: Exploring Culture and Health
ABOUT THIS COURSE
Complex health care barriers demand a call for a more holistic response. This course offers an in depth understanding of what culture has to do with community health and health care. Students will learn about the structural barriers that keep ethnic minoritized groups from seeking medical care, and stereotypes in medicine and how to address them in community health.

- Define and understand the importance of cultural competence.
- Understand how cultural norms and values affect health and health care quality.
- Understand the consequences of cultural and social issues and their impact on health.
